Barbara Jane Tardiff

Exeter – Barbara Jane Tardiff, 87, of Exeter died November 24, 2013 at the Exeter Hospital.

She was born April 28, 1926 in Dexter, MO the daughter of the late Leslie S. and Ethelyn M. Day.

Mrs. Tardiff was a graduate of Dexter High School and lived in Exeter since moving here in 1946.

She was an operator for New England Telephone for many years, a member of the Rockingham Coral Society and a member of the choir at the Methodist Church in Exeter.

Jane, as she liked to be called, loved her five children, grandchildren, and life itself. She enjoyed antiques, playing her piano, singing, making braided rugs, and most importantly, eating her vanilla ice cream and chocolate bars. Although she was stricken with dementia in her last four years of life, she always had a saying when asked how she is doing, “I ain’t bitching, I keep pitching”. She will be greatly missed for her upbeat personality and positive outlook on life.

Family members include her sons, Dennis Pelletier and his wife, Jennifer of Exeter, Bruce A. Pelletier of Oakland, CA and Stephen J. Pelletier of Exeter, her daughter, Karen J. Pelletier of Kittery, ME, her granddaughter, Reagan Beaudet, two grandsons, Jeremy Bonnor and Jason Raymond, 2 great grandchildren, Ashley and Sydney, and her sister, Martha M. Palmer of Dexter, MO. Several nieces and a nephew also survive her.

Mrs. Tardiff was predeceased by her husband Frank F. Tardiff and her son, Drew Pelletier.

Services will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Wednesday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Wednesday from 10 AM until the hour of the service. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be made to the charity of ones’ choice. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
