Roger L. Plourde of Exeter, NH, aged 82, on March 16, 2014 after a long illness.

Husband of the late Virginia T. (Driscoll) Plourde ; Father of Maurice Plourde of Brentwood, NH; Michael Plourde of Exeter, NH; and Francine (Plourde) Hennessey M.D. of Bedford MA. Father-in-law of David Hennessey and Amanda Plourde; beloved grandfather of Daniel, Timothy, and Theresa Hennessey, and Nicolas and Emma Plourde. Roger was from a family of 10 children born in Riviere Ouelle, Quebec, Canada. He is survived by his sister Jeannine Bernier and brother Aime Plourde of Quebec and sisters-in-law Judy Plourde of Stratham, NH, Josephine Peek of Rye, NH, and Blandine Plourde of Quebec, and brother-in-law Oscar Bernier of Quebec.

Roger emigrated from Quebec in 1954 with his brother Camille. He settled in Exeter and supported his family through employment at the Eno Brickyard, GTE Sylvania, and the Exeter Public School system. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5179.

Relatives and friends my visit with the family at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road in Exeter, NH from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday, March 21, 2014. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, 9 Lincoln St, Exeter, NH at 10 am on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Burial will follow at the Exeter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockingham County Nursing Home, 117 North Road, Brentwood, NH 03833, c/o of Residents’ Fund.
