Maria H. Moitoso
Fremont, NH – Maria H. Moitoso, 89, of Fremont, passed peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Fremont, after a brief illness.
Maria was born in Faial Azores, July 15, 1927. She immigrated to the United States and settled in Somerville, MA in 1959. Maria worked as a cook for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Somerville, MA and as a seamstress for Priscilla Gowns, Charlestown, MA. After retiring, she and her husband settled in Fremont, NH. Maria enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting/crocheting, planting and taking care of her family.
Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Manuel S. Moitoso. She will be deeply missed by all family members. She is survived by her children, Herbert Moitoso and his wife, Paula of Billerica, MA; Clara Moitoso Wiley and her husband, Frank of Fremont, NH; Elizabeth Ray and her husband, Edward of Reading, MA; her grandchildren, Paul Moitoso, Eric Moitoso, Jennifer Moitoso-Rodrigues all of Billerica, MA; Colene Wiley of Greensburg, PA; Christopher Ray of Tyngsboro, MA; and her great grandchildren, Joseph Moitoso and Maria Rodrigues. She is also survived by her sister Leonitina (Tina) Silveira of Derry, NH.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 2 - 4 pm with a Service at 4 pm at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH. Family and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Avenue, Somerville, MA 02143, in memory of Maria H. Moitoso.
Spring burial will be in the Leavitt Cemetery, Fremont, NH.
