Shirley J. Lennon

Shirley J. Lennon, age 87, of Stratham, NH, died Friday December 2nd in Exeter, NH from complications of diabetes. She was born in Lawrence, MA, June 25, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Hilda (Eaton) Vandewalle.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul F Lennon who died on July 4, 2011.

Shirley grew up in Wakefield, MA, and graduated from Wakefield High School. While living in Wakefield she met our father, Paul F. Lennon Sr., of Lynnfield, MA. They were married on December 4, 1949. Our mother and father were together for the rest of their lives and raised four children. During their time they traveled extensively throughout the country in their motor home. They spent their winters in Florida. They both were very happy living in Stratham, NH and spent many hours down by the ocean.

Our Mom will be always remembered for her interest in people and her determination, which allowed her to remain in her home to the end.

Her family includes Paul Lennon of Northwood, NH; Cindy and Donald Passero of Belmont, MA; Lynne Letendre of North Andover, MA; David and Diane Lennon of Hampton, NH, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be celebrated at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter Thursday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Thursday from 10 am until the service. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery, North Hampton. If desired, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
