Exeter – Florence E. Hanson, 97, a lifelong resident of Exeter died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Center at Exeter Nursing Home.

She was born December 27, 1916 in Exeter daughter of the late William and Anne (Demers) Hanson.

Flossie was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter. She spent her whole working career with Exeter and Hampton Electric Company on Water Street in Exeter.

She was a very active member of St. Michael’s Church and enjoyed supporting her church.

Family members include her brother-in-law, Ted F. Arnold, her sister’s children, Tammy Keene, Lynn French, Laurie Eldridge and Tim Arnold, her nephews, Richard Hanson, David Hanson and his wife, Wendy, her niece, Linda Peel, also survived by many friends.

She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Arnold and her longtime companion, Francis Elliott and her brothers, Robert Hanson and Buddie Hanson, a nephew Michael Hanson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Monday at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Sunday at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter from 2-4 PM. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
