Exeter – Michael J. Cunniff, 85, of Exeter died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Exeter Hospital.

He was born September 16, 1930 in Bronx, NY the son of the late John and Catherine (Dunleavy) Cunniff.

He was raised and lived in Bronx, NY for many years moving to Exeter in 1976. He was a construction manager for the United Engineers construction company and Stone & Webster Company.

He was a communicant of St. Michael Church and was a former Mason while living in New York.

He was the husband of the late Lillian M. Cunniff .

He enjoyed going to Foxwoods and spending time with his family.

Family members include his children, John Cunniff , Michael Cunniff, Mary Cunniff and her partner Robert Lewis, Eileen Heady and her husband, Douglas, Anne Piehler and her husband, John, Catherine Welch and her husband, Donald, Lillian Gilbert and her husband, Robert, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his brother, Bernard Cunniff.

He was predeceased by his son, Edward Cunniff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery. In desired donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, PO Box 176, Exeter, NH 03833.
