Anita Antal

Anita Antal, age 83, of New Hampshire, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, February 29, 2016. She was born September 27, 1932, in Boston, MA , a daughter to the late Paul and Georgiana (Durant) Decot.
Anita grew up outside of Boston, MA and after graduating high school, found a love for hairdressing. She married the late
Paul Antal
and joined him during his tenure in the Army before spending many years living in Ayer, MA. It was there that Anita also served as a school nurse’s aide at the Ayer Junior-Senior High School. Throughout Anita’s life, she explored her creativity through painting, ceramics, knitting, and even cake decorating.
Throughout her 53-year marriage to Paul, they navigated the country in their beloved RV and became fond of hot air ballooning, the beach and spending summers at Camp Eaton in York, ME and many winters in Bradenton, FL. In addition to seashells, she also collected dear friends from all facets of her life.
Family members include daughter Debra A. Masters and her husband, Michael, of Exeter, NH; two sons, Steven P. Antal and his wife, Maria, of Merrimack, NH, and Michael J. Antal of Taylorsville, NC; grandchildren, Nicholas Antal, Michael Antal, Kristina Antal, Jennifer (Antal) Smith and Gregory Antal. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, loving in-laws and many long-time friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, corner of Front Streets, Exeter, Friday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family, Thursday from 5-7 at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Burial will be private.
