Exeter – Carmen M. Williams, 83, formerly of Exeter died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Colonial Poplin in Fremont.

She was born March 6, 1931 in Quebec, Canada the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Provencal) Gamache.

Mrs. Williams lived in Berlin, NH before moving to Exeter in 1961. She was a baker and cook for the Exeter Hot Lunch program, prior to this she worked at the Berlin Hospital.

A Communicant of St. Michael’s Church, she volunteered for the Christmas fair for many years and also was a volunteer at the former Exeter Healthcare.

She and her husband were foster parents for several years.

She was the wife of the late Herbert Williams who died in 1994.

Family members include her children, Paul Williams of Exeter, Eric St. Laurent of W. Palm Beach, FL, Jane Sorel of Northwood and Lisa Jones of Raymond, she is also survived by 7 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister, Laurette Giroux of Canada.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter Wednesday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
