Exeter – Rita H. West, 88, of Exeter died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Exeter Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born July 26, 1927 in Exeter, NH the daughter of the late William and Ora (Naves) Hope.

A Lifelong resident of Exeter, she was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary and was a telephone operator for the former Exeter Telephone Company and also worked At Eileen’s Hallmark.

She was a member of the Exeter Lions Club.

Family members include her son, Robert H. Corning and his wife Ellen, her daughter, Marilyn Sweeney and her husband, Shawn her grandchildren, Richard and Matthew Corning, her stepsons, Michael West and Jeffrey West.

Visiting hours will be from 1 PM until the celebration of Life Service at 2 PM. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the NHSPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
