Fred A. Wentworth, Jr.








Exeter – Fred A. Wentworth, Jr., 87, of Exeter died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Exeter Center after a long illness.

He was born in Stratham, NH January 18, 1929 the son of the late Fred A. Sr. and Florence (Gamlin) Wentworth.

Mr. Wentworth was a graduate of Hampton Academy and lived most of his life in Exeter. He played all state football while at Hampton Academy. He served in the US Air Force and the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He cofounded and co-owned Rila Precast Concrete Company of Brentwood. After his retirement he was an inventor and held 10 United States patents and 16 international patents.

He served on the Board of Directors for the former Exeter Banking Company.

Family members include his wife, Sally (Ray) Wentworth, his children, Peter Wentworth and his wife, Tracey, Fred A. Wentworth, III and Deborah O’Leary and her husband, Paul, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, his sister, Carolyn Brown.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.
