Hampton – Brenda M. J. Wake, 60, of Hampton died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Exeter Hospital.

This loving light was born January 25, 1956 in Chicopee, MA the daughter of the late Wilmer and Lillian (Therrien) Smith.

Brenda, who was raised in Lawrence and a graduate of Lawrence High School, moved to Hampton, NH in 1981 after her marriage to Daniel Wake. Her exuberant energy was demonstrated by her many careers including first working beside her late husband, Dan at DPW Construction. She was a licensed real estate agent in the Hampton area and lastly, worked at Portsmouth Hospital as an intake coordinator.

Of her many loves, nothing was more precious than spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Braelyn, and many trips to Maine to visit her family.

Family members include her daughters, Robin Wake and her partner, John Donovan; Nicole Wake and her partner, Derek Stowe; her sisters, Deborah Stone and her husband, Donald; Donna Rydle and her husband, Kevin; her granddaughter, Braelyn Nicole; and her godson, Michael Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Wake; her sister, Kim Pond; and her brother, Wayne Smith.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Sunday from 2 - 4 PM with a service at 3:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Faber Cancer institute, Boston, MA.
