Newmarket, NH – Lawrence E. Soucie, 84, of Newmarket, formerly of Exeter died Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Portsmouth Regional hospital from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born October 29, 1931 in Newburyport, MA the son of the late Albert and Greta ( ) Soucie.

He was raised in Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. He Served in the US Army and than worked for Newburyport Tannery for over 33 years.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, his family as very important to him especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He enjoyed sports, playing cards and wrestling.

He was the husband of the late Linda L. Soucie.

Family members include his six sons, Scott Soucie and his wife, Criss, John S. Soucie and his wife, Joella, Michael R. Soucie, David M. Soucie and his fiancée, Charlotte, Wayne A. Soucie and his wife, Tracy and Christopher T. Soucie, also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

The Soucie family is very grateful for the kind and compassionate care which the Doctors, nurses and staff provided for their father at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter,NH, Friday at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rockingham VNA/Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833.
