Joan Junkins Simpson


Deerfield – Joan Ahearn Junkins Simpson, 72, of Deerfield died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born December 12, 1936 in Lowell, MA the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Rita F. (Boyle) Ahearn.

Joan was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School.  She graduated from the University of New Hampshire.  She was a realtor, owning her own business for many years known as Century 21 Junkins & Jackson. 

She had resided in Deerfield for the past 20 years, moving there from Hampton.

Family members include her children, Starr Perry, Dawn Perkins her husband Bill, Seth (Jay) Junkins his wife Betsy, Sunny Guy, Jill Sullivan and Mistey Reynolds. Her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Amber, Jenna, Seth, Sarah, Zachary, Leith, David, Melissa, Steven, Stephanie, Brittany and Caitlin. She is also leaves behind her lifelong partner and best friend Harry Lloyd Jackson.

She was is also survived by her Siblings: Marie Lessard, Barbara Gagnon,  John (Timmy) Ahearn, Bernard Ahearn, Marylou Prescott, Rita DeVincentis, Reginia O'terie, Gail Thompson and Patricia Karl. She was predeceased by James, Fredrick, Edward, Herbert, Daniel. Joan was the oldest of fifteen.

A Celebration of her life will be celebrated at Faith Lutheran Church, Elm Street, Exeter, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11 am.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  If desired, donations may be made to Rockingham VNA/Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH  03833. Burial will be private in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
