Beverly J. Simmons
Kensington – Beverly J. Simmons, 78, of Kensington died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
She was born March 28, 1936 in Boston, MA the daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen (McGrath) Trottier.
She was raised in Boston and was a graduate of Boston High School. She lived most of her life in Exeter and resided in Kensington for the past 10 years. She was the first female toll taker and supervisor at the Hampton Tool Booths.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and gardening.
Family members include her husband of 58 years, James A. Simmons, her children, Rusty Simmons and his wife, Connie, Judy Tunstall and husband, Sam, Jacquie Simmons and husband, Scott, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, her siblings, Kenneth “Buddy” Stoughton, Chet Stoughton, Chet Trottier, Alan Trottier, Steve Trottier, Donna Bunnell and Alma Riccardelli, also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter Wednesday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Tuesday from 5-7 PM. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Kensington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
