Edna M. Schaake
Edna Mae (Barry) Schaake, 95, of Hampton died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Exeter Hospital. She was born May 09, 1919 in Somerville, MA, the beloved daughter of the late John F. Sr. and Loretta (McKearney) Barry.
Edna was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1937. She moved to Hampton where she worked as a waitress at Lamie’s Restaurant and then resided with her husband Ralph and family for 58 years. Edna was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton and a member of the Lioness Women’s Club. She was a member of Abenaqui Golf Club for approximately twenty-five years.
She was the wife of the late Ralph R. Schaake, Jr. for whom she was married for 51 years. Family members include her sons, Richard Schaake and his wife, Deborah of Ft. Myers, Florida, Robert Schaake and his wife Traci of Hampton, NH, her daughter, Kathleen Callan and her husband, Thomas Forbes of Hampton, her granddaughers Margaret M. McCurdy and her husband, William of Hampton and Katelyn M. Callan of Hampton, MA and her great grand-daughter Sydney M. McCurdy of Hampton. Edna is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Edna was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Barry, Jack Barry and Mildred Morrissey.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa Church, 815 Central Road, Rye Beach, NH, Monday, November 23rd @ 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family Sunday, from 5 – 7 pm at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter, NH. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
