Robert F. Sargent
Exeter – Robert F. Sargent, 88, of Exeter died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
A Lifelong resident he was born her August 26, 1923 the son of the late Frank H. and Elizabeth (Brown) Sargent.
Mr. Sargent attended Exeter High School and served in the US Navy. He was a mail carrier for the United States Post Office Exeter office for many years. Previous to this he worked for the Exeter Brass Works.
He was a 32 degree mason of the Exeter Star in the East Lodge #59 F. & A. M., A member of the American Legion Post 32 of Exeter and a member of the Exeter Sportsmen Club where he served as secretary for many years. He was a member of the Award winning Exeter Drum and Bugle Corp.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as spending time at his camp in Pittsburgh, NH and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Family members include his wife of 67 years, Doreen (Goodale) Sargent, his children, Wayne Sargent, Richard Sargent, Audrey Poliquin, Valerie Loopley and Beverly Forbes, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
Mr. Sargent was predeceased by his grandson, Joel Poliquin.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Saturday, May 12th at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family from 11 AM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Charity of Ones’ Choice. Burial will be private.
