Leo A. Roy


Kingston – Leo A. Roy, 90 formerly of Kensington died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Exeter on Hampton.

He was born January 23, 1922 in Salem, MA the son of the late Elzear and Elizabeth (Demers) Roy.

He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army.

Mr. Roy lived most of his life in Newmarket and Kensington, recently moving to Kingston.  He was a mechanic for Bell & Flynn for many years and had also worked for Dining Oil Company and Dearborn’s Motor Express.  He was a member of the Exeter American Legion Post #32.

Family members include his wife of 59 years, Marjorie I. Roy of Kingston, two sons, Leo J. Roy of Kittrell, NC and Thomas Roy of Atkinson, two daughters, Haley Verrin of Atkinson and Merrilee Roy of Jacksonville, FL, two grandchildren, also survived by several nieces and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, Front Street Exeter, Saturday at 10 AM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Friday from 5-7 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter.  Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.  The family requests that flowers please be omitted.  If desired donations may be made to the Rockingham VNA/Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833.
