Macey S. Rosenthal
Epping - Macey S. Rosenthal, 72, of Epping, formerly of Hampton Falls, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 with loving family by his side.
Mr. Rosenthal was born in Brookline, MA on April 20, 1937, a son of the late Frank and Gussie (Gordon) Rosenthal. He graduated from Brookline High School with the Class of 1955 where he was an All-Scholastic baseball player and class president. Mr. Rosenthal went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in psychology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME. A skilled infielder in college, he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox and spent some time in their minor league system. After serving his country with the U.S. Army Reserves, he earned his Master's Degree in Education from Tufts University. He taught high school history and coached both baseball and football in CT and MA. After his time in teaching, he worked as a regional sales representative for Xerox, and then owned and operated Sir Speedy Printing in Lowell, MA for over 30 years.
Mr. Rosenthal owned and loved horses and many other pets, and was an active member of the Rockingham Riding Club. He loved discussing politics, baseball, history and a wide range of other topics with family and friends, as well as sharing his talents as a pianist. He took a genuine interest in everyone he met, and touched innumerable lives with his optimism, humor and kindness. He considered himself lucky every day of his life.
He is survived by a close and loving immediate family including his wife of 25 years, Loreen (Falcone) Rosenthal of Epping; his daughters Cheryl Rosenthal and her partner Chris Allen of Somerville, MA, Jill Rosenthal and her husband George Shaler of Portland, ME; his son Daniel Rosenthal and his wife Julie of Cumberland, ME; and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Jonna, Anna and Shay.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother David Rosenthal, and by Joyce Karp Rosenthal, the mother of his children.
The family will be accepting visitors on Sunday, March 28 from 12 to 5 PM in their home at 116 Exeter Rd., Epping, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Rosenthal's name to the Anti-Defamation League, Department: RL, P.O. Box 96226, Washington, DC 20090-6226 at
