Matthew G. Prior








North Hampton, NH - Matthew G. Prior, 48, of North Hampton, died suddenly Wednesday, April 23, 2014 while on vacation with his family in Key West, FL.

He was born in Norwalk, CT on December 4, 1965 a son of Shirley (Lemieux) Prior of Stuart, FL and the late Walter Prior III.

Matthew was raised in Eliot, ME and graduated from Marshwood High School with the Class of 1984. Following graduation he attended the University of Southern Maine where he graduated with the Class of 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in Business.

Mr. Prior worked in High Tech sales at various companies since the early 1990’s.

Matthew was most of all a devoted family man, loyal friend and animal lover. He enjoyed fishing, especially his fishing trips with close friends and family. He also enjoyed playing and watching football.

In addition to his mother, Shirley L. Prior, he is survived by his wife of 20 years Karen (Dube) Prior of North Hampton; son Thomas Prior of North Hampton; daughter Audrey Prior of North Hampton; brothers, Walter Prior IV and his wife Jean of South Lawrence, MA, Ted Prior of Portland, ME; sisters, Nancy Lee Prior of Westbrook, ME, Susan Prior and her husband Brad Smith of Portland, OR and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH. Services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, May 5, 2014 at the funeral home, followed by a reception held at the Stratham Community Church, 6 Emery Lane, Stratham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Matthew’s honor to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or the New Hampshire SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
