Nelson L. Poliquin
Rochester - Nelson L. Poliquin, 78, of Rochester died October 10, 2010 at the Frisbee Hospital in Rochester.
He was born November 19, 1931 in Epping, NH the son of the late Lester and Veronica (Domingue) Poliquin.
Mr. Poliquin was raised in Epping and attended grade schools there. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
He previously worked for Johnson’s Dairy Farm and as an auto mechanic in Northwood, NH, and in the construction industry where he retired from Brox Industries Paving Company as the plant manager. He enjoyed music and had his own band for 18 years playing the accordian. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing horseshoes, reading and crossword puzzles.
He was the husband of the late Mary Rose (Grimard) Poliquin.
Family members include his children, Kevin Poliquin of Exeter and Sharon L. Kenney of Exeter, his grandchildren, Cherie Poliquin, Christina Kingsbury, Michael and Shawn Poliquin and Hannah and Victoria Kenney, his brother, Lawrence Poliquin, Sr. of Alton, NH, a step-son Albert (Rusty) Poliquin, Jr. of Epping. Other family members include step-siblings Joan Morrison, Cecile Robie, Rose Place and Wilfred Latour, Jr., many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his step-son Ronald L Poliquin, step-father Wilfred Latour, Sr., as well as step-siblings Robert Latour, Raymond Latour, Diane Junkins and Charles Latour.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH Friday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family at the funeral home, Thursday from 5-8 PM.. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sol Amor Hospice, 65 Lafayette Road, Ste. 302, North Hampton, NH 03862.
