Richard “Rick” J. Ouimette

Exeter – Richard “Rick” J. Ouimette, 61, of Exeter died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

He was born September 2, 1947 in Keeseville, NY the son of Marjorie Ouimette.

Rick was raised in Keeseville, NY and was a graduate of Keeseville High School.  He lived most of his life in Exeter where he worked for the Exeter Department of Public Works for 35 years.

He was a veteran of the US Marines serving during the Vietnam Era.  He married his wife on November 6, 2007 in Jamaica. They were active members of The Social Life Club.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was always smiling and had a kind word for everyone.  His hobbies included, traveling, cruising in his mustang convertible, dancing, playing with his grand kids and enjoying the Oldies.

He was the husband of Janice M. (Schott) Ouimette of Exeter.

Family members include three daughters, Melissa Schott of Kittery, ME, and Jennifer Bird and her husband, David Bird, Jr. of Haverhill, MA, Tammie Wilson of Tucson, AZ and four grandchildren, Sarah Schott of Kittery, ME, Matthew Bird of Haverhill, MA, Alex and Michael and his cousin, Ronald Ouimette and family, Keeseville, NY.

Rick was predeceased by his first wife, Joan (Murray) Ouimette.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Wednesday at 10 AM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.  Burial with military honors will be in the Exeter Cemetery.  If desired donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 18th Street NW, Washington, DC 20006.
