"Bee"
Durham – Barbara (Bee) E. Newman, 84, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 16. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Bob Newman. She leaves behind her four daughters and a son: Deb (Newman) Flanagan, Laurie (Newman) Loomis and her husband Mark, Jennifer (Newman) Rice and her husband John, Jackie (Newman) Kukesh and her husband Kevin and Steve Newman and his wife Ellen Brownson; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She graduated from Centenary College in 1953. Bee’s passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed volunteering at local libraries and was involved with the Pan Mass Challenge and a deacon of her church. She was an accomplished knitter and knit stuffed animals for returning military personnel through Pease Greeters. She and Bob enjoyed traveling the world.
Memorial services will be held at New Castle Congregational Church, 65 Main Street, New Castle, NH on Friday, March 24 at 11AM. A reception will immediately follow at the church. The burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to support the ALS Clinic at Mass General.
