Barbara A. Murphy
Exeter – Barbara A. Murphy, 88, of Exeter, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Rockingham Nursing Home in Brentwood.
She was born May 14, 1922 in Exeter, a daughter of the late Frank and Ladra (Connor) Kucharski.
A lifelong resident of Exeter she was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary. She was employed at Exeter Manufacturing and at Western Electric for 28 years in North Andover, MA. She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Christian Mothers Club which was affiliated with the Altar Society of the church.
She was the wife of the late Edward J. Murphy, Jr. who predeceased her in 1970. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Margaret and Veronica Kucharski and brothers, Frank and Stafford Kucharski.
Family members include her son, Edward J. Murphy, III and his wife, Josephine, of Inverness, FL, her daughter, Mary M. Corkery and her husband, Brian, of Dover, two grandchildren, Therese Sansoucie and her daughter Cayla Gordon of Somersworth and Jessica Frome and her son Jackson Frome of Tampa, FL, an aunt and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Murphy was also survived by her companion of the past 30 years, Frank T. Ahearn, of Exeter.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Wednesday in St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
