Stanley Mudgett, Sr.









Stanley Mudgett Sr., 75 of Nottingham, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014, at home with family at his side.

He was born February 25, 1938, in Wolfeboro, son of late Robert Henry Mudgett and Elizabeth Wood (Carter) Mudgett.

A lifetime resident of New Hampshire, Stanley grew up in Farmington, and Greenland. Stanley split his time between his home of 43 years in Nottingham and his summer home in Pittsburg, NH.

As a teenager Stanley worked for F. W. Woolworths and Exeter Hospital. Stanley was enlisted in the United States National Guard from 1955 to 1958, where he served as an Armed UV eh driver and was awarded for his sharp shooting. He worked for Mass. Gas & Electric Supply Co. for 20 years. Stanley owned his own business for the past 42 years, where he dedicated his life to provide care and support to individuals with physical and mental impairments.

Stanley enjoyed spending his free time fishing and relaxing in Pittsburg. Stanley was a dedicated and caring family man. He will truly be missed, but certainly never forgotten.

Stanley was preceded in death by his two granddaughters, Carolyn Ann Wright in 1983, and Christina Lynn Wright in 1984.

Survivors include former wife, Shirley G. (Fanjoy) Mudgett of Lancaster; son, Stanley R. Mudgett, Jr. and wife Priscilla (Wright) Mudgett of Nottingham; daughter, Deborah G. (Mudgett) Wright and husband Robert Wright, Jr. Of Ossipee; grandchildren, Kenneth Mudgett of Nottingham; Elizabeth (Wright) Cray of Effingham; James Mudgett of Boynton Beach, FL; Robert Wright III of Ossipee; Cpl. Frank W. W. Mudgett of Nottingham; and four great grandchildren.

There are no calling hours. Burial to be held in spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Hampshire Special Olympics. Assistance with the arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.
