He was raised in Berlin and graduated from Notre Dame High School in Berlin. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, his Master’s degree in Education/Administration and Supervision from Plymouth State College, Plymouth, NH, his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S) in Administration/Supervision from the University of New Hampshire, Durham and post C.A.G.S work at Plymouth State College, Plymouth, NH. He continued his graduate studies at Boston College, Lyndon State College, Pope John XXIII Seminary, and the University of Wyoming.

He was the Superintendent of Schools for SAU 16 in Exeter, NH. Previously he was Superintendent of Schools for SAU 74 in Barrington, NH. He also served as principal at Lin-Wood Public School in Lincoln, NH, Bishop Brady High School in Concord, NH, Bishop Ludden High School in Syracuse, NY, Seton Catholic High School in Cheyenne, WY, was a guidance counselor/teacher at Stratford Public School, North Strafford, NH, and a Social Studies teacher/Department Chair at Trinity High School, Manchester, NH.

He was an adjunct professor at Plymouth State College and New England College in Henniker, NH, teaching graduate-level education and school administration courses.

He was a member of the American Association of School Administrators, NH School Administrators Association, NH Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, NH Association of School Principals Executive Board, Strafford Learning Center Executive Board, Seacoast Educational Services, NH Interscholastic Athletic Association, and Diocese of Manchester School Board.

He received the 2017 Superintendent’s Award from New England League of Middle Schools, Plymouth State University 2016 Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award, New England College 2016 Adjunct Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence, and 2013 Administrator of the Year from NH Music Educators Association.

He is survived by his wife, Lesley (Satz) Morgan, his children, Jon Morgan and his wife Katie, Marc Morgan, Ben Parker and Josh Parker; his grandchildren, Thomas Morgan and William Morgan; his brother, Tim Morgan and his wife Donna, his sister Patty Hood and her husband Robert “Bin,” and his sister Denise Morgan Allain and her fiancé Gary Croteau; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets in Exeter, Friday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be made to End 68 hours of Hunger, 7 Finn Avenue,
Newfields, NH 03856 or the St. Vincent de Paul Society, P.O. Box 176, Exeter, NH 03833. Private burial will be in Berlin, NH.

Brentwood – Michael A. Morgan, 67, of Brentwood died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 19, 1949 in Berlin, NH the son of the late Arthur “Tom” and Alice (Roy) Morgan.
