George Raymond Moore
George Raymond Moore, 90, of Exeter died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Oceanside Nursing Home in Hampton.
He was born June 24, 1920 in Ladysmith, WI, the son of the late George W. and Florence (Timm) Moore.
He graduated Ashland (WI) High School and attended Northland College until enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1941. While stationed in New York he met and married the former Alice Massell. After his service he was employed by Pan American World Airways, retiring in 1973 as Director of Cargo Sales. He was later employed by Profit by Air in Boston.
He was predeceased by his wife who died in 2000, a sister Helen Erickson of Wisconsin, and his son-in-law John Wood.
He is survived by his daughter Alice Wood of Exeter; his son George and his wife Vasiliki of Alstead; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Tim of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead. Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home of Exeter.
