Thaddeus F. Mielcarz








Concord, NH – Thaddeus F. Mielcarz, 90, of 237 Pleasant St. Concord, NH Monday, September 19, 2016, peacefully after a brief illness.

He was born in Salem, Mass., June 23, 1926, the son of the late Anthony and Anna Mielcarz.

One of seven children, he graduated from Salem High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. Having defended his country in WWII he went on for a year of post graduate studies at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, and later graduated from St. Anselm College in Manchester.

He worked a majority of his career as an industrial engineer for GTE Sylvania in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Puerto Rico; retiring to Exeter in 1990.

In addition to raising five children, he enjoyed life to its fullest and was always working on some project whether it was raising rabbits or planting over 1,000 raspberry bushes to sell; he always had something going on. An avid and accomplished golfer, he enjoyed being outdoors and enjoyed sports of all types.

He was proud to say he was the husband of his beloved wife Frances (O’Reilly) Mielcarz with whom he shared 55 years of marriage and pre-deceased him in 2007.

Family members include three sons, Ted Mielcarz Jr. of Dover, Mass., John Mielcarz of Hampton, and Joseph Mielcarz of Bow; two daughters, Mary Mielcarz of Exeter, and Daria Mielcarz of Stockholm Sweden, eight grand children many nieces, nephews. Ted was pre-deceased by four brothers, John, Henry, Chester, and Walter Mielcarz and two sisters Wanda Surowiec and Stella Gondella.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, September 23, 2016 at 10 am at St. Michael Church in Exeter, NH. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to operation smile (www.operationsmile.org) 3641 Faculty Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23453.
