Maureen A. Menter
Brentwood – Maureen A.(Vahey) Menter, 55, of Brentwood died Tuesday, September 30 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital, Dover.
She was born February 17, 1959 in Myrtle Beach, SC the daughter of Alma (Jones) Vahey and the late William Vahey.
Maureen was a graduate of Exeter High School Class of 1977. She was a correction officer for the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood.
She was the first female Police Officer for the town of Brentwood, a member of the Brentwood Baptist Church, a former Sunday School teacher, Co-President of the Brentwood Seniors, Curator of the Brentwood Historical Society, Founder of the Heavenly Hatters Society of Brentwood.
In addition to her mother family members include her husband, David F. Menter , her son William F. Kenyon, her sister, Grace Fuller and her husband, Chuck, her father-in-law, Chester Menter, also survived by many friends.
Memorial gathering will be held at the Brentwood Baptist Church, North Road, Brentwood, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. If desired donations may be made to the Wentworth Douglass Cancer Center to help families in their time of need.
