Stephen H. Meline
Brentwood – Stephen H. Meline, 68 of Brentwood died Monday, June 26, 2017.
He was born on March 12, 1949, the son of late David & Pauline Meline.
Steve was raised in West Roxbury, MA. He attended High School at Boston Latin, graduating in 1966. He received his BS in History from Boston University in 1970 and later an MST from Boston College (little known fact!). He went on to teach a variety of science courses at Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury, MA. He taught in the Junior High, Middle School and High School for 35 years. He coached Track and his greatest joy, Cross Country, the latter for 30 years. He was most proud of his many champion teams. Another especially fond memory was the season he spent coaching 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball. His passions included all Boston sports teams, but especially his beloved Boston University Terriers Hockey Team.
After an early retirement in 2004, he and his wife K.J. traveled the world to many far and exotic places including the Galapagos, Antarctica, The Arctic, China, Africa, Australia, New Zealand & Tibet, forming many fine friendships along the way.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by their children Katie of Troy, NY and David of Redondo Beach, CA; also, his faithful Border Collie, Dixie, Aussie Chaz & Maine Coon, Moxie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter on Saturday, July 1st at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Diabetes Organization, Boston University Friends of Hockey or The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust would be sincerely appreciated. Private burial will be in the Brentwood Cemetery.
