Elizabeth C. "Bette" McGaughey



Elizabeth C. “Bette” McGaughey, 82, of Exeter died, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Exeter Hospital.

She was born in Exeter, NH June 4, 1928 the daughter of the late Ezra and Arlene (Whitten) Colcord.

Mrs. McGaughey was raised in Exeter and was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary.  She was an administrative assistant at the Rockingham County Probate Court for many years.

She was the wife of the late Norman  J. McGaughey.

Family members include her daughters, Karen Jensen of Kensington and Sally Loffredo of Methuen, MA, her son-in-laws, Donald Jensen of Exeter and James Loffredo of Haverhill,MA, her grandchildren, Matthew Jensen, Aaron Jensen, Sadie Mae Jensen, Justin Loffredo, Jordan Loffredo and Lauren Loffredo, her brother, James Colcord of Exeter, her sister, Virginia Jones of TX, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Colcord and sister, Margaret Kendall and her friend Donald “Bud” Collier.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Monday at 6 PM.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family from 4 PM until the hour of the service.  Private burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.  If desired donations may be made to  Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH  03833.
