William Frederick McCain Jr.
Apalachin, NY - William Frederick McCain, Jr. died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in New York.
He was born in Shelbyville, IN on Aug. 8, 1931 the son of the late William F. and Virginia J. (Owens) McCain..
Bill attended Greenfield IN High School, Depau University, Indiana Central College, and Hofstra University, He served in the Navy in the Korean War, and retired after a long career at Honeywell. He was a Member of the Franklin Lodge F& A.M. for more than 55 years. Bill served in the NH Legislature for 8 years, where he served as Chairman of Children and Youth Committee and Chairman of the Rockingham County Delegation. He was a Brentwood NH Selectman, and served on the Brentwood and Franklin, NH school boards.
Bill will be remembered for his ethics and his loyalty to family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Diane Mary McCain, sister Judy Romine, two grandsons, William John and Andrew Francis.
He is survived by his wife Donna T. McCain, his children Douglas and wife Michelle of Owensborro, KY, Debora Jensen and husband Arthur of Hunington Beach, CA, Brian and wife Irene of Hampton, NH, Sue Gribbon and husband Daniel of Clairmont, CA, Craig McCain and wife Lee of Exeter, NH, Liza Schultz and husband Mark of Exeter, NH and step children Laurie and Daniel MacIvor of NY, 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday August 6, 2012 at 11 AM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family from 10 AM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society and Diabetes Association. Burial will be in the Brentwood Cemetery, Brentwood.
