Lynn F. Maxwell



Exeter – Lynn F. Maxwell, 56, of Exeter died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born June 17, 1955, in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of Marilyn Whitcomb Fenno of Montpelier, VT and the late Dr. Ross V. Fenno.

Lynn was raised in Montpelier and was a graduate of Montpelier High School.  She attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri and the University of New Hampshire.  In her professional career, Lynn worked for several law firms, Access Sports Medicine, and most recently the Cambridge Trust Co.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister.  She shared her love of horses with family and friends and was an active participant in the Squamscott Pony Club.  Other interests included reading, gardening, knitting, jewelry-making, decorating, and attending her children’s sporting events. 

Lynn was an active member of her community.  She was a Notary Public, volunteered at schools that her children attended, and was a former member of the Exeter Library Board. 

In addition to her mother, Marilyn W. Fenno, family members include her husband of 26 years, John J. Maxwell, her son, David B. Maxwell and his wife, Heather; her daughters, Alison W. Maxwell and Roslyn T. Maxwell; her granddaughter, Charlotte E. Clay; her sister, Shelley F. Quinn and her husband, Charles J. Quinn; her sister, Gwen L. Fenno; her aunt, Carol W. Smith; her brother-in-law, Gregory A. Maxwell and wife, Ruth; her brother-in-law, Alan (Chip) B. Maxwell, III; her sister-in-law, Mary E. Jensen and her husband, Erik Jensen; her brother-in-law James R. Maxwell and his wife, Joyce; and five nieces and five nephews.
 
A celebration of her life will be held at the Phillips Exeter Academy Church, Tan Lane, Exeter, New Hampshire, on Sunday, September 25 at 3 p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family, Saturday, September 24 from 4-7 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, New Hampshire.  Family flowers only.  If desired, donations may be made to the NH SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH  03885 or the Rockingham VNA/Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH  03833.  Burial will be private.
