Alfred P. Markey
Exeter – Alfred P. Markey, 97, of Exeter died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Fox Den Assisted Living in Sandown.
He was born March 7, 1918 in Lawrence, MA the son of the late Stanley and Tekla (Tveraga) Markey.
Mr. Markey was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He lived in Exeter for most of his life and was a communicant of St. Michael Church. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and lector at the church, he was also a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council # 2179 of Exeter.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving during WWII.
He was a member of the Ham Radio Club.
Family members include his children, Peter Markey of AZ, Kathy Marsh of CA and Paul Markey of Exeter, his grandson, Paul J. Markey.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Monday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Sunday from 2-4 PM. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery.
