Jerome J. Lyons
Brentwood - Jerome Joseph Lyons, Sr., 78, of Brentwood, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at home with loving and caring family at his side.
Mr. Lyons was born March 19, 1933 in Bayside, NY, a son of the late Daniel F. and Mary Gertrude (Hicks) Lyons.
Jerry’s family moved to Hough’s Neck in Quincy, MA when he was a child. He attended Quincy High School and after school he joined the United States Marine Corps. Jerry served his country honorably in Korea during the war and was always very proud of his service as a Marine. Jerry was a jack-of-all-trades that could do anything and everything. He worked as a carpenter with Union Local 111 of Lawrence for over 35 years. He married Maureen (Murray) Lyons on October 12, 1958 and the couple settled in Brentwood to raise their family. He loved farming his land in Brentwood and just walking through his woods gave him great joy.
In addition to his wife Maureen, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth LeClair and her husband Jeffrey, Susan Prescott and her husband Russell, Maureen Randlett and her husband Mark, Kathleen Schell and her husband Timothy and Jerome J. Lyons, Jr. and his wife Deborah, his grandchildren; Rose, Russell, Rowen, Maggie and Carly Prescott, Daniel, Molly Fraleigh and her husband Peter and Jacob Randlett, Ryan Armstrong, David, Charlie and William Schell, and a good friend of the family Ron Fortier. He also leaves his siblings; Rita McGowan, Bernice Richardson and her husband Bob and Vincent Lyons and his wife Shirley, a large group of wonderful friends and neighbors and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Gerald Lyons and his sister Veronica Hickey.
Visiting hours will from 2 - 4 and 6 – 8 on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Rd., Exeter, NH. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Thursday in the Brentwood Cemetery, Rt. 111 A, Brentwood. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
