Robert C. Leonard, Jr., 54, of Brentwood died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born August 30, 1960 in Lowell, MA the son of the late Robert C. Leonard.

He was a graduate of Exeter High School and lived in Brentwood for the majority of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator for G.E. Merrill & Son, Inc. Excavating for the last several years. Previous to this he worked for Al Hoyt and Sons, Inc. for over 25 years.

He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother in-law and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed boating, NASCAR racing, tractor pulls and the Red Sox. He also enjoyed spending time with his special friend, his Golden Retriever, Bella.

Family members include his wife, Karen L. Tumbarello-Leonard, his son, Robert M. Leonard, his significant other, Christina Vignola, his daughters, Jamie Roach and her husband, Shanne Roach and Jennifer Tumbarello, his brother, David Leonard, his grandchildren, Kaylee Leonard, Karsyn Leonard and Chelsea Roach, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Thursday at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family, Wednesday, from 5-8 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Burial will be in the Brentwood Cemetery.
