Gregory S. Lenz


Exeter, NH - Gregory S. Lenz, 22, of Exeter died November 4, 2011. 

He was born April 6, 1989, in Newton, Mass., the son of Peter R. and Marcia Gadsby Lenz of Exeter.

Gregory was raised in Bangor, Maine, and was a graduate of Bangor High School in 2007. At the time of his death he was a senior at the University of New Hampshire, majoring in international affairs, political science and German.

Gregory was a member of the National Honor Society and the 2006 Maine Class A State Championship Soccer Team at Bangor High School. He was selected best student in advanced German, was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society and the Golden Key Honor Society, was selected to present a paper at the 2011 Undergraduate Research Conference and received honor grades every semester at UNH.

Greg served as a vital member of the Student Senate. He was extremely well liked by his teachers and his peers, showing a great deal of enthusiasm and engagement in the classroom.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Erik P. Lenz of Berwick, Maine; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Lilly Lenz of Roslindale, Mass.; his maternal grandparents, William and Jean Gadbsy of Auburn, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in New York, West Virginia, England and Germany.

A Service is being held at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 am. 
Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank or the N.H. SPCA, P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885. Burial will be private.
