Ralph S. "Brownie" Leblanc
Ralph S. “Brownie” Leblanc, 89, of Exeter, died of heart complications on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Exeter Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Exeter, he was born September 5, 1923, the son of the late Adrian and Isabelle (Brown) Leblanc.
He attended Exeter High School and entered the US Army serving during WWII.
Mr. Leblanc worked in the construction business for 31 years for Bell & Flynn of Stratham and prior to this he worked for Watkins Construction Company.
He was a member of the V.F.W. of Exeter. He was, in his youth, also a great bowler as was his father, Adrian. In his younger years, he greatly enjoyed music and dancing with his wife, Germaine. He also loved being by near the ocean and clamming and fishing in his little red boat. When his sight became a "challenge" he still enjoyed meeting with the "boys" at Dunkin Donuts to discuss town politics and things in general, not to mention eating donuts! Brownie always loved dogs and had a special way with all animals.
Family members include his wife of 65 years, Germaine (Leveque) Leblanc of Exeter, his children, Linda LeBlanc Cummins of Alabama, David Leblanc of Hampton, Leda "Pixie" LeBlanc of Portsmouth, and Eddie Robinson of Litchfield, NH and 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Brownie is also survived by a beloved sister, Mrs. Isabelle Sullivan of New York.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Saturday, Nov. 10th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Donations may be made to the NH SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885. A private burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Epping.
