Adelaide H. Leahy
Brentwood – Adelaide H. Leahy, 105, of Brentwood formerly of Worcester, MA died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home.
A lifelong resident of Worcester, MA she was born in Worcester, April 20, 1909 the daughter of the late George N. and Mary E. (Bond) Hathorne.
She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and worked for many years at the Former Memorial Hospital now known as UMass Memorial Hospital of Worcester in the EKG Department.
She was a former communicant of St. Paul’s Cathedral of Worcester.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Leahy, Sr.
Family members include her son, Rear Admiral, William Leahy, Jr.,(USCG (Ret.) and his wife, Andrea of Stratham, 6 grandchildren, Mark Peirce, Sally Peirce-Leahy, Matthew Leahy, Lisa Casey, Suzette Turnbull and Christina Mossey, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Adelaide was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Leahy and her two sisters, Estelle Germain and Eleanor Seymour.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Church, corner of Front and Lincoln Streets, Exeter, Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The family requests no visiting hours. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester, MA. If desired donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, PO Box 176, Linden Street, Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.
