Jim LaBranche, Sr.

Jim LaBranche Sr. passed away November 6th, 2016 with his family at his side after a sudden illness. He spent the last week of his life at home looking at the water and watching the boats from his favorite place in the world. He leaves behind a family that always adored him and sought his advice while knowing and enjoying his keen sense of humor.

He leaves behind his wife Betty LaBranche, daughter Penny and husband Mitch Latva, daughter Nicole and husband Kingman Yee, grandchildren Andrew Walters and wife Jessica, Sawyer Latva, James and Maezie Yee. He also leaves his sister Linda Jordan, brother Mike LaBranche and wife Pauline, and his sisters in-law, nieces, and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his son James LaBranche, Jr. on December 26, 2014.

His life was always full of family and friends and his many interests. He was an avid boatsman, and being captain of his boat “The Branch Office” brought him hours of joy. “The Branch Office” was used as his get-away condo in Marco Island, FL. He was an excellent photographer and enjoyed painting. He was a golfer - although not a serious one. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips including several islands, Italy, France, and Greece. Just four weeks ago he was traveling with dear friends and his wife in Spain.

He was a graduate of New Market High School, New HampshireTechnical Institute, and CMS Real Estate School. Throughout his life he had three careers - first in tool design at Northeastern Tool Company, then as a builder and commercial property investor, and eventually co-owner of the Betty LaBranche Real Estate Company. He was a man without an enemy in the world, and was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and beautiful smile.
