Manchester – Phyllis B. Irish, 96, formerly of Exeter died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Eliot Hospital in Manchester.

She was born November 17, 1917 in Portsmouth, NH the daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Hubbard) Brewster.

A Lifelong resident of Exeter, Phyllis was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary. She was a bookkeeper for Dearborn’s Motor Express for 37 years and also was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Allen M. Irish Painting and Papering.

She was a former member of the Exeter Congregational Church, a member of the Exeter Bowling League and a former member of the Gilman Grange.

Family members include her children, Charles “Dicky” Irish of Raymond, Robert Irish of Kingston and Barbara Blenk of NC, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, William L. Brewster.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Wednesday at 6 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family Wednesday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund or the Charity of choice. Burial will be private.
