Tracy A. Hurley



Olney, MD - Tracy Ann Hurley, on the morning of Wednesday, December 1, 2010 passed peacefully.

The beloved mother of Danielle, Emily and Jordan, daughter of Marjorie Runion, and the late Spencer Runion, sister of Cheryl, Kim and Todd. Born April 30, 1957 in Norfolk, VA, she was raised in Concord, NH and Morrisville, VT.

A lifetime learner and lover of literature, reading and writing, she attended University of Vermont, University of New Hampshire, Hunter College and Lesley University, attaining degrees in English and Education. She brought her loving and kind heart as a resident to many communities including Woodbine, MD; Burlington, VT; Exeter, NH; Governors Island, NY; Seaside, CA; Stoughton, MA, and Mobile, AL.

An inspired volunteer and gifted teacher, she was a guide to visitors at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and taught English at Stoughton High School. Her love of writing fiction brought her to publish short stories and become a founding member of the Mobile Writers Guild.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road in Exeter, NH. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service, followed by interment at the Prospect Cemetery in Epping, NH, and reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
