Stephen W. Hawes, age 63, of Exeter NH died peacefully on November 22 after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve had a passion for all things mechanical, live steam locomotives, tractors, engines, machinery; anything that could be taken apart and put back together. He enjoyed time with family, especially his grandchildren Luke and Sydney, Saturday morning breakfast with friends, his hobbies and his cats. He was a well respected and talented master plumber and HVAC technician. Working most recently for Palmer & Sicard and Exeter SAU-16 School District.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 38-years, Barbara. Son Michael and wife Amy, beloved grandchildren Luke and Sydney. Sister-in-law, Loretta and partner David and their daughter Melissa. Mother, Florence, brother Dick and wife Cindy, his nephew Eric and wife Chrissy. He was pre-deceased by his father, Arnold.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Sunday, November 29th at Stockbridge Funeral Home in Exeter at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the NHSPCA or The Harris Center for Chordoma Care at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
