John D. Hauslein, Jr.
Lee – John D. Hauslein, Jr., 82, of Lee died June 22, 2013 at Kirkwood Corners in Lee.
He was born November 28, 1931 in Dover, NH the son of the late John D. Hauslein, Sr. and Rhea (Scanlon) Hauslein.
He was raised in Dover graduating from Dover High School and the University of New Hampshire, Durham with a degree in Engineering.
Mr. Hauslein lived in Lee for many years and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard as an engineer. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army and was an active member of the Jeremiah Smith Grange of Lee.
He was an avid hiker, hiking the Appalachian Trail for 300 miles with his sister, an avid skier and loved to ride his bicycle, which he rode across the country several times.
Family members include his sisters, Alice Harper of IL and Lucy H. Jache of Ohio, his caregiver of many years, Marcia Putnam.
Graveside services were held at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. Arrangements were by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.
