Anson Louis Hall
Anson Louis Hall of Exeter, NH, died on March 18, 2016 at the age of 95, beloved husband of 58 years to Sally (Collins) Hall, also beloved husband of Jean E. (Richardson) Hall who died in 1955. Son of Chester Anson Hall and Ella Stevenson Hall. Father of Heather Hall of Somerville, MA whose husband was the late Stephen M. Harrison, Shannah (Hall) Franckum and husband Bradley C. Franckum of Belmont, MA, Hilary (Hall) Coder of Exeter, NH, Marcy (Hall) Kane and husband Kevin J. Kane of Abingdon, MD, Anson L. Hall, Jr. and wife Diane (Root) Hall of Twinsburg, OH, brother of Ralph W. Hall of Wichita Kansas; and brother of Chester Roy Hall, Pauline Hall Horton, Doris Hall Leventhal, Audrey Hall Kantor and Raymond Hall, all deceased. Beloved grandfather to eleven grandchildren.
Anson was a graduate of Attleboro High School (1938) and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned and operated Anson Motors, Inc. of Attleboro, MA for 35 years. He was an avid skier, sailor, boatsman and not so avid golfer. He generously supported the community in which he was born and lived the majority of his life in the following ways: President of the Attleboro Auto Dealers Association, President of the Massachusetts Auto Dealers Association, President of the Attleboro Chamber of Commerce, Director on the Board of Durfee Attleboro Trust Company (now known as Bank of America), Chairman of the Board of Trustees Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Chairman of the Attleboro Area Mental Health Association, Member of the Lions Club.
A celebration of his life will be held on April 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anson’s memory to the Make A Wish Foundation, One Bulfinch Place, Boston, MA 02114-2931.
