Joseph E. Goss
Exeter – Joseph E. Goss, 73, of Exeter died, Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Exeter Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Exeter he was born January 31, 1940 the son of the late Henry and Pearl (Lancaster) Goss.
He was a graduate of Exeter High School class of 1958. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army. He worked for the former Sears Store in Exeter as the Service Manager for many years, most recently he worked for the Town of Exeter water treatment plant for 20 years.
He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, hiking, flying and was an avid reader.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post #32 of Exeter.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at the Exeter Hospital, Rockingham VNA/Hospice and the Dietary Department for the special anniversary meal they prepared for the Gosses.
Family members include his wife of 34 years, Mary (Willett) Goss of Exeter, his daughters, Jennifer A. Goss of Greenland and Lynn A. Goss of Dover, his siblings, Robert Goss of Portsmouth and Michael Goss of Epping, Judy Desotelle of Dover, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Sunday at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family from 12 noon until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockingham VNA/Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Burial will be private.
