Dorothy A. Goodrich

Exeter – Dorothy Arlene Goodrich passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 after a long and prosperous life.

She was born in Laconia the daughter of the late Gilman Smith and Irene (Cox) Duling.

Dorothy was a graduate of Manchester Central High School in 1937 and entered the Nurses training program at the Laconia Training School currently know as Lakes Region General Hospital. She worked in Boston at several area hospitals in private duty.

After moving to Exeter, she began working at and retired from the Exeter Hospital, shortly after her retirement she worked part time at the former Eventide Nursing Home in Exeter.

Family members include her husband, John M. Goodrich of Exeter, her daughter, Pamela B. Hall and her husband, E. Curtis of Onset, MA, two stepsons, Mark Goodrich and his wife, Meredith of Newfields and Jay Goodrich of Exeter, five grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan, Nathaniel, Nathan and Dylan, four great grandchildren, Finley, Felix, Sofia and Greyson. She is also survived by two very special cousins, Frances (Renee) Coen of Meredith and Russell Cox of Franklin, NH, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NH SPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885 or Make a Wish Foundation of NH.
