Rachael Garand
Seabrook NH – Rachael (Pierce) Garand, 92 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 12, 2017 in her daughter’s home in Barefoot Bay, FL. She was born in Newburyport, MA, daughter of Elizabeth (Douglass) and Daniel B. Pierce.
Rachael was the wife of the late Henry A.J. Garand, married June 7, 1969 in Hampton Falls, NH. She was a long time resident of Newburyport, Seabrook, NH and a snowbird in Lake Wales FL.
After graduating from Amesbury High School in the class of 1943, she went to work for various companies between New York and Massachusetts. She also volunteered to be a plane spotter at Salisbury Beach during World War II. Her last job was a Wal-Mart greeter in Seabrook.
She was predeceased by her 5 siblings, Margery Comer, Douglas Pierce, Daniel Pierce, Shirley Chase, and William Pierce.
Rachael leaves behind her 4 children Carol (Bob) Maguire of Dover, NH, Gary Simpson of Merrimack, NH, Kevin Simpson of Myrtle Beach, SC and Eileen (Tom) Conner of Newfields, NH. She had 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Memorial Services will be held graveside June 14, 2017 at 11 am at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Newburyport, MA arranged by Stockbridge Funeral Home of Exeter, NH.
