Louis J. Gaiero
Exeter – Louis J. Gaiero, 92 , of Exeter died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Exeter on Hampton Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
A lifelong resident, he was born here May 30, 1919 the son of the late Louigi and Margherita (Pirola) Gaiero.
Mr. Gaiero was a graduate of Exeter High School Class of 1937. He along with his father and brother owned and operated Court Street Market for many years. He also worked for Phillips Exeter Academy for 10 years, retiring at age 80. He was an accomplished singer and pianist.
He severed in the US Army during WWII in the 68th Coast Artillery, receiving 9 Battle Stars, in the invasions at Angeo, Italy and Southern France. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #32 of Exeter and the VFW #2181.
Family members include his wife of 41 years, Louise Temple Gaiero, Sister-in-law, Sue Gaiero, nephews, Lawrence Gaiero and Family, Gari Gaireo and Family, niece Dee Ramen and Family, two god daughters, Laurie Gray and Emily Nyhan and many friends.
Services will be held at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, Friday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Flowers are acceptable or if desired donations may be made to the Charity of ones’ choice.
