Richard Anthony Franzoni
"Dick"              



Richard Anthony Franzoni (Dick), 85 of Exeter, N.H. passed away on August 27, 2014.

Dick was born in Rutland, VT to Attelio A. Franzoni and Mary E. McAndrews on 5 Dec 1928. He joined the US Army after completing his schooling in 1945. He served in various positions and skills in his 20 year service to our great country. Serving his time in Hell while fighting in the Korean War and culminating with being chosen to represent the US Army Pistol Team.

Upon his retirement in 1967, Dick brought his family to Exeter, where he worked for Sylvania, the US Postal Service, PEA and Arjay's. He was a call Fireman for the ladder company, a Cub and Boy Scout Leader, a NH fish and game hunter safety instructor, a Big Brother, and a deacon at the Congregational Church. Dick was also the Exeter Police Dept. Range Master. Upon his retirement from his paying jobs, Dick worked with his wife of almost 62 years in her home daycare business. He enjoyed anything that could be done outside, with hunting and fishing topping the list. He was a self taught wood worker, making furniture and other treasures for family and friends.

Dick was a very humble man who never realized the impact he had on the lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Attelio and Mary, and a younger sister Theresa Franzoni.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Lowell Franzoni, of Exeter, a son Richard Anthony Franzoni Jr., of Virginia. A daughter Gina Alba Coburn of Colorado, a brother A.A. Franzoni of Mighigan, a sister Betty Indish of Florida, a grandson Nathaniel A. Rinfret of Colorado, a granddaughter Christina M. Franzoni of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, NH. Informal attire requested ( jeans and t-shirts would be great as that was Dick's dress code thru life.....) Friends and family are welcome to the Franzoni home for food and fellowship after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Exeter Sportsman Club attn: youth training fund. Dick's ashes will be scattered in Alaska at a later date by his children.
