Alan Irvin Frank
Alan Irvin Frank, 83, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Lecanto, FL. He was born March 17, 1929 in New York City and grew up in Philadelphia, PA.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Frederick and Dorothy “Dolly” (Lang) Frank, two brothers Harold and Stanley, a son David, a step-son Michael and twin grand-children Joseph and Davida Bolognese.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Carbonneau Frank of Lecanto , FL. 3 children: Steven Frank of Boulder, CO; Jeffrey Frank and his wife Sherry of Malvern, PA and Elyse Bolognese of Holland, PA. Eight grand-children: Elena (Frank) Shabashevich, Benjamin Frank, Lena Frank, Lauren Frank, Samantha Frank, Minka Bolognese, Tara (Frank) Jeroszco and Tyler “Tip” Frank.
Mr. Frank obtained his Undergraduate and Masters Degree both in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Signal Corp. He held several patents while working for Philco Corporation. He was the founder and President of Scan Data Corporation.
For several years he and his wife Helen enjoyed living on their boat. Sailing between the Caribbean and the Eastern Seaboard. They lived for many years in the Daytona, FL area and in Syracuse, NY. In recent years they resided at Terra Vista in Hernando, FL.
Burial arrangements are under the direction of the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter, NH. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, 10 Regina Blvd, Beverly Hills, FL 34465 or to the charity of one’s choice.
